Project description/issues

This restoration project has been a wonderful opportunity to work with a progressive thinking farm owner in sustainable agriculture. Kelvin is embracing environmental repair measures to benefit our natural environment and natural resources on his property. Kelvin is a great example of land managers taking positive steps for the future in a time of challenging, climate pressures.

This is a Riparian restoration project, co-ordinated by Tweed Shire Council, as part of a larger, River Health grant program.  The project is aimed at assisting the landowner to achieve improved environmental assets including soil and water quality. Other objectives are to control the impact of weeds on the existing, native vegetation and address bank erosion whilst enhancing natural biodiversity values by planting riparian plants
